"I liked Benny before it was cool..."
.I recently got to see The Lego Movie, and loved the psychotic over-enthusiasm of Benny when he was finally allowed to build his spaceship, but it also reminded me that I had an original blue spaceman from back in the 80's. The ship he's sitting on is a modified Starfire Β that I've had since 1986.
This is a 16:9 wallpaper if anyone wants to use it

I still have my old benny figure as well, but he's certainly seen better days. On the plus side his helmet hasn't cracked yet! I really like this updated version of this old set. Will we be seeing more in the future?

Unlikely as I only have a few classic Lego sets and I want to keep them intact. I only updated the Starfire as I must have switched out a few parts when I was a kid and have no idea which parts are the originals. Besides the parts are starting to show their age now and don't lock together quite as well as they once did, so I'm more inclined to leave well alone.
Fortunately with the Lego Digital Designer and POVRay I can tinker with old sets and render life-like images without risking the originals.
