I wonder if the smile will ever go away . . .
BTW: looks like the smarter troopers get the better armor, at least on the legs.

There was a design of the standard LEGO stormtrooper minifig, that included patterned legs. The other minifig is a 2012 redesign of the sandtrooper.
But the Imperial troopers (stormtroopers, scout troopers, TIE pilots, sandtroopers, any Imperial trooper that wears a full-face helmet...) for 2012 have 1 thing in common.
A face, unlike all-black heads...

Yeah, I like the new heads! The old ones were a little disappointing, as I wanted the option of doing a lounge scene at one point in the future (I was experimenting with LEGO movies at the time), but it looked weird having them sitting there with their helmets on I could have used a regular system head, but it would have had to change to black in the middle of putting the helmet on, which would have been noticeable.

Just 1 problem...
Try and guess it.

Oh crap, now I remember . . . it was the TIE pilot, not the Stormtrooper that had a dark head, and it wasn't even black. Now that I look back, it was the lack of a black head piece that I disliked, because it looked like they were missing the black neck seal part of the armor. The lounge scene was actually a TIE Pilot's lounge, because the story I was trying to film had to do with Kyle Katarn breaking into a TIE factory.
You would think I would remember the surplus I had of yellow blank heads.

No, I was talking about the scout trooper!
His helmet has no black visor...
As in, it's still an empty part where the eyepieces are supposed to be...

Yup, it's the one from the Droid Escape set.

I got the "Endor Imperial Trooper and Rebel Trooper" set instead...
But did you notice the 1 thing about the helmet-wearing Imperial LEGO minifigs for this year?
The stormtroopers, scout troopers, sandtroopers and TIE pilots for 2012 all have 1 thing in common...
Try guess what is it?

They all have faces, rather than the plain all-black heads.

Yeah.
Those new heads make the older ones look stupid...
Here's 1 example: [link]

I still prefer the all-black heads to be honest. One thing about Stormtroopers was that you never knew what they looked like under the helmets, and the black heads kind of maintained that mystery.

Yep.
They still need to shave though... LOL.
