I seriously want to shake the hand of anybody who actually recognizes this character.This picture is mainly a tribute to one of my favorite childhood cartoon characters. This is Tiger, from Monster Rancher. I remember when I would get up early, every morning of everyday and watch this. Tiger was my all-time favorite character, and remains to actually be one of my favorites simply because of the memories attatched. This is a tribute to that show.
I was seriously pissed when it was cancelled, since it was 110x better than some of the shit they call TV shows now.
If you ever get the chance, look up the series on Youtube. I found some of the first episodes. Ridiculous as some of you older kids may think it, I thought it was ingenious way back then.

I saw how Season two ended, and it was terrific. c: I think they meant for that to be the end, but they had a Season three and it started really weird. o: But I have a link to all the episodes if you wanted to watch 'em. ^^

I loved quite a few of the monsters from the show, Tiger being in the top of them. I managed to snag both of the 2 MR series and a few of the games. Even to this day I have a blast playing/watching them.
If your still looking for places to pick up the games/watch the anime let me know and I will direct you to some sites that I know have all of the eps and games ^^ us MR fans got to stick together

I actually managed to find a site with all the Monster Rancher episodes. 8D I was quite delighted to stumble upon it, and watch the episodes in my free time. I'm about halfway through all of them. x3 Midway through the second season.
And I agree with you, Tiger is one of the best, but i've also seen some pretty awesome monsters. Maybe when I get enough money, i'll find one of the games and play it, since my only one was stolen a few years back. D|

Well I got the game from my friend but it's only the game CD, nothing else. If your still interested let me know, but in all honesty you can get it on Ebay or some other places online with everything case, game, manual, and everything else.

To all you guys who are sad that it's over- THERE ARE OVER 100 EPISODES AIRING. I searched Monster Ranchers on youtube or something and there are WAY more, first of all, they defeat Moo but much more

The problem is they don't air anymore on television, as far as I know, but I had no clue that it was more than 100 episodes! That puts me in a good mood to know that it was liked when it was up. ^^ I'll have to take the time off to watch them all sometime.

I'm a huge Monster Rancher fan -- hell, I made a meme for it here on dA-- and was really upset when it stopped being aired too. You know, there were a few episodes that only aired once then never again? o.o" It's really sad. What I liked best about it was that, unlike Digimon or Pokemon, Monster Rancher stuck with more or less the same monsters in each new game that came out. In total I think there's 5 PS games, a beta MMO in Japan, and a bunch of handheld games for it.
Now that I've thuroughly nerded out, I'd just like to point out your drawing is really very good. It has clear definition of muscle and structure, though the only problem is the muzzle is too thick, and possibley a bit too short. Aside from that, it's an awesome peice!

Really? That's great; I really want to play the games someday. Maybe I can find some of them on eBay or something. The only one I had was stolen from me, it was upsetting. :c I think Monster Rancher was far better than Pokemon or Digimon; the characters were more distinct and likeable. And it definitly should have gotten more viewers than it did. Do you know where you could find those episodes? o.o

I forgot to mention that if any of you use a bittorrent provider, you can access the episodes/seasons that were never shown in the US. They were shown in the UK and Australia, so they're available in english.

I miss it so much. I really miss the old cartoons that we used to watch.. They were more funny and creative then some of the other ones I'm seeing these days.

I miss it too. They have crap for TV shows nowadays, and yet they're actually keeping them aired. I'm not sure how many episodes Monster Rancher lasted though. o.0

XD Oh wow. I literally freaked when I saw this in the previews. Tiger was always my all time favorite of the show. I, too, remember waking up early just to see what kind of trouble he got out of and all that great stuff XDD Amazing work on the art! Keep it up!

I actually have a little Tiger figurine, I traded him for a Pokemon card way back when. xD I never tire of looking at it and holding onto it and whatnot.
It's really great to hear so many people remember this show, since it truly was one of the better ones. All the characters had detailed and well-thought of personalities, really distinct. Tiger was the best, though. x3

I've got a stuffed Tiger sitting up on my desk right now. He's seen better days, I'll admit. For some time, I didnt realize my sister gave him to our dogs as a chew toy until I saved him from them. xD
xD And, yes, Tiger /was/ the best, no kidding. Hopefully soon I can grab some free time and just sit and watch the series over again.. xD And actually be able to comprehend it. Back when I was little, it was just like, "I like that one, he's pretty!" XD
