(silly dA and its title limits forcing me to spell like a rapper
and yeah it's all in caps, because it's the sort of song that you YELL.)squeeee I went to see Jet live in concert yesterday night and they were incredible yay. I'm still sort of on a gleehigh from that night, especially since I got so many pictures in my head during the whole thing.
As far as 'sound' goes, Jet's fast songs (namely Cold Hard Bitch, in particular) always make me think of Penny, since she's so in-your-face and RAR but not in an unlikeable way xD and when they were playing Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is... well, this picture pretty much drew itself. Penny being forward, Wings taken aback but not complaining
hee. I need to draw more stuff I got from that concert while it's still fresh. might not colour it all though... I just wanted to draw and colour something and this was such a clear picture.and I am sorry to everyone I owe art to for taking forever. x_x things have been a bit mad around here.
(by the way... any Jet fans in the house? Apparently, among the people I know, the only other person that likes them as much as I do is my brother. >>; )

I'm the same way as you, I'm not like a diehard paraphernalia-fan. BUT I FANGIRL OVER TEH MUSIC. and they are so so so awesome to hear live. I wasn't at the front, but I was yelling along to the songs anyhoo xD sofun.

I love Jet, but I only have the Get Born album, unfortunately. Hopefully I can get some cash soon and go on a CD-buying spree. There are so many I want! D:

oh man, Shine On is an awesome album. All the best in getting it! I bought Get Born and my brother bought Shine On and we shared them, so it was a joint effort on our part to get both xD

Awesome. Seriously. You've got your trademark ability to paint a story with a single picture, and to have the interaction between two characters just spot-on, COMBINED with gorgeous coloring (I love that shading) and absolutely fabulous expression.
Anything anyone ever needed to know about both characters, BANG, right there. <3

I'm also listening to Jet - I am seriously digging on this. Bring it on Back is my favorite so far, though Rollover DJ is a VERY close second. I'm not a fan of the falsetto in Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is, but I love it when they kick it into high gear. LOVE that beat! And I agree, the screaminess is...melodic? *eyebrow quirks* Okay, that sounds absurd, but it's definitely not your normal screaming music. This has the uptempo beats I love, combined with singable lyrics (mostly), which is my -favorite-.

Are you thinking of buying the albums at all? or just individual songs? as far as songs go... let's see. If you liked Bring It On Back and Rollover DJ the most, then I think you'd enjoy Get What You Need, Come On Come On, Holiday, Get Me Outta Here and Lazy Gun.
other songs I personally like: Are You Gonna Be My Girl is their big hit - appeared in an iPod ad and on The OC, if I'm not wrong... it got overplayed for me back in 2004, but it's still catchy and lots of fun. Eleanor is sweet, low-key, Beatles-y. Kings Horses and Shine On are also quieter and slower, I really like Kings Horses particularly. and That's All Lies is just more of that rip-roaring feelgood rawk that they do so well - the first time I heard it was at their show, and I'm quite sure it was the song they opened with, so I have a very good impression of it indeed <3

That's actually Penny's original colour. I was just never able to get at the first picture I'd ever drawn of her to eyedropper it, but now I have so yay.
