Description
Name: OrranAery: Twistoult
Character Species Combination: Eurasian Tawny Owl (Strix aluco)/Siberian (Amur) Tiger (Panthera tigris altaica)
Rank: Young Gryphon
Gender: Male
Character Personality:
Awkward around most new faces, and rather shy as a result, young Orran usually prefers to keep to himself and his immediate family, and doesn't really have many friends. From an early age, Orran developed a keen interest in the wild flora flourishing in the Twistoult forests, and through trial and error and observation is teaching himself to cultivate plants - uprooting shrubs, collecting seeds, and planting them in a bed of earth he has collected in his quarters (to his mother's chagrin). So far his private garden has not been a great success, but he is learning with every experiment. If any youngster bothers to try to befriend the reclusive owlgryph, he or she will find a willing, cheerful, and loyal friend in Orran, albeit one whose chief topics of conversation include rare herbs and fruit, and the pollinating mechanisms of the beautiful dove-orchid, and other such things.

My first gryph character for ! I'll definitely be fleshing him out more as I complete the challenges and such for him. Excitement! He'll eventually grow out of his social awkwardness, for the most part at least, but for now he is a shy nerdy kid, with an interest in botany (which he won't grow out of). d'aww.

Yay thank you! Tawny owls are incredible teddy bear birds and I just got inspired to make him huge and fluffy.

A nerdy owlet with an interest in flora and fauna? My Thanh would love to meet him!
Very cute little gryphon design. Welcome to Windsonde!

(Argh, I put 'fauna' when I meant 'flora', didn't I? That's what I get for typing this up right after spending hours over this ref sheet and frying my brain. x_x; I feel like regarding animals, if anything, Orr would be an entemologist xDD)
I was actually looking over the ref sheets for all the other Twistoult characters just to see who my guy will be hanging out with. I can imagine he and Thanh would make a funny pair! Thanks for the welcome, I look forward to getting settled and getting to know all of these characters

Haha, stuff like that happens to all of us.
Thanh may know absolutely nothing about plants, but he'd make up for that lack of knowledge with sheer enthusiasm and is always willing to learn. They should definately hang out sometime.
I look forward to Orran's challenges!

Thanks! He's actually quite large when he grows up, being part siberian tiger.

Thanks! That's supposed to be his baby and juvenile forms, maybe I should have labeled them.

Oh, I see that now. The colours and feathering is different on the young one.
You're welcome ^^

They're actually different on all three of those, based on how young tawny owls grow into their adult plumage: [link] [link] [link]
I love 'em! They're like teddy-bear birds. xD

Thanks again, and you should check out the rest of that group then, I was inspired by how a lot of the artists there included fledgeling and nestling designs on their character sheets
