Art trade with the one and only =Akita ! *squee* I was supposed to draw MRH-Akita with Dakota.. and huskies and malamutes always make me think snow. Especially with those lovely cool muted colours. So here they are running through some wintery forest place. I haven't cel-shaded in a while (and I hadn't cel-shaded with my further-evolved dog style at all yet) so I chose to go with that this time. I'm happy with the results
Musical influences included You Get Me by Michelle Branch, Learning How to Smile by Everclear and Ocean Avenue by Yellowcard.

And as for the 'cartoon' I am 'talking about', that is my SIGNATURE. It is taken from a Max Fleischer cartoon and I just liked the quote. And you have a signature too so I don't know why you're so confused.

I have NO idea what you mean. I scan my pictures into Photoshop and colour them. If you're looking for a full-on photoshop tutorial then I'm sure you could find one around the site somewhere, there's billions.

I love seeing how you take people's fursonas, and give them your own twist by adding this sort of 'realistic cartoonish style'.

The way you portray these doggie rfellows look oddly similar to that in Balto. Out of curiousity - did you get any inspiration from Balto - this looks oddly similar to a scene frfom that animated movie?

Not at all o.O I hadn't seen Balto in years when I drew this (just watched it last night, incidentally xD). In fact I used refs from real malamutes and huskies to get the character designs down.. they're not as exaggerated and catoony as the Balto-style dogs. -_-;;

Holy CRAP... This is INSANELY gorgeous.. WOW. -tries to form coherent thoughts-
First off.. their poses.. They look so elegant. You have such a knack for canine anatomy and your ability to manipulate it into different poses and perspectives is... amazing. I know it's something I've struggled with for a WHILE. And your style.. yumyumyum o.o I've always ADORED realistic-toon styles. I never can pull one off, but you do it very well. The background gives it such a... 'mystical' feel.. Like they're just running through to forest together with little to no concideration of the world outside of themselves. Like they're the only ones that matter at that moment.. -endcornyness- o.x -brick'd-
And let me just say... you portrayed the feelings between these two PERFECTLY compared to how me n Randall are in real life. They really look like they care alot about each other. And the markings? Spot on.
Last but not least, that gorgeous coloring. You did REALLY well with that cel-shading.. especially on Aki.. Her hair looks so silky and flowy.
God, I can NOT get over this.. it's WONDERFUL.. It's going on my desktop... Now I have two gorgeous pictures I can use for my desktop ^____^ Gah, I've GOT to make your part live up to this.. It's absolutely too much for words.

This is like a postcard...or an advertisement for some sort of romantic canine get away in..Alaska!Eh...moving on. The scene is so idyllic...For some strange reason I just adore the dark shade of brown you picked for the trees, who knows why! The pawprints in the snow is such a lovely touch, really adds to the theme of the piece, that the two of them are just frollicking through the woods without a care in the world.
Their expressions and the emotions you can feel emanating from em is just superb....Akita will love this, you can really SEE how much they care for one another. Dakota looks slightly more playful...almost as if he knows Aki will hit a tree if she doesn't open her eyes soon!!
The detail on Akita's coat is amazing too....I -love- this kind of cell shading, its has so much depth!!Just looks so floofy. Mmm. Loverly!!

And nah, I don't think he's jealous.. he just doesn't appreciate that some artists work their fingers off on their work - if you'll visit his page, he obviously doesn't put in effort into his so-called "art" (in fact to call it art is an insult to artists) at all.
