Now there's a good amount wrong with this, I freely admit, but there's also a good amount right with this and I'm posting it for the stuff that's right. and because I wanted to put up a Christmas themed picture in time.

I wasn't planning on doing a holiday picture but after going through my watch both on dev and elsewhere and seeing all the seasonal stuff, I thought, well, why not try -- and ended up revisiting my well loved familiar MG dogs (and cat) whom I haven't drawn in a really long time. I've missed these guys and I feel like we have a lot to catch up on, especially since canonically all these pups are well past two years old by now and I still feel like they're the age they are in the picture. No time like the present to get back in touch.

This was probably the photo that Beth and Johnny sent in their Christmas cards in 2008. I wanted to draw the pups still pretty young, I missed out on their younger days and I'm sorry for that.

For those of you that don't know who they are, Dusty the bully whippet is on the far top right, and below him Demon the Ibizan/Greyhound cross looks up with the innocent adoration of a younger sister. Beside her are the other youngsters: the best of friends Tender the cocker spaniel and Kite the whippet, preparing to play tug of war with a stray piece of tinsel, and on the extreme bottom left Adriana the Basset/basenji, who has apparently discovered an interesting smell leading somewhere outside the photo frame. Kite's parents Wings and Penny look on, Wings with some bemusement regarding his hat, and Cari the cat gets lost in a daydream.

And to the rest of you, have a fantastic holiday regardless of what you celebrate (or don't), and here's to a great new year to come. Lotsa' love.
