Description
I needed to draawwwwww. really.so I've been working on variation within breeds, and I've lately realised that I draw Swift in a particular distinctive style. so I illustrated how she is different from how I draw a generic whippet here. of course there are lots of little things in her design that are reflections of me personally. I don't like to state such things outright because I enjoy seeing how people interpret Swift in their own style when they draw her, but if people are curious I'd be all too happy to share
(I've always found it interesting how many people shade Swift's white parts in red or grey when they draw her, because I always do it in blue. not complaining or anything, since as I said I enjoy seeing how other people draw Swift with their own touch - if everyone tried to emulate my style when they drew her that would really annoy me no end. just an observation on my part. :3)
anyways. I intend to upload a bigger version of this eventually with Wings and Asp on them, because I have particular ways of drawing them too. whee.

i can definately see the differance, such as body structure, and her larger (cuter ) eyes due to the cartoony style you have used. She also looks very puppyish
She has a loverly coloured pelt thats for sure

wow that's really cool! You've kind of simplified her more than the generic whippet. given her more recognizable characteristics. sort of recognizable Personality ^^
I still draw my whippets all the same X)

haha, well it took me a while to figure it out. I wanted to learn to draw them properly first before I stylise! and this is something I've only started doing lately too..

Ha, very intersting, I actually never really noticed this (probably because my lack of swift giftart o: )
But yes, she seems more heavily boned as well as her eyes look 'toonish'
All in all, you are a fabulous artist
Much love you

gah, quickdrawings with tablets always don't turn out exactly as you want them to >>; nevertheless.
Swift isn't so much heavier boned as she is muscular, really, since she's half racing stock (she's really not all that heavyset as she seems here, really, I think because I drew her bigger than the 'generic whippet' which I didn't mean to do >< ). and she does enjoy her food a bit too much
Her eyes are the exaggerated whippet eye. I have big eyes too.

Yeah, you got that right I think! She's shaped more like an adolescent whippet (that would be clearer if I'd drawn her the same size or a little smaller than the generic whippet >>; ) people still think I look sixteen or seventeen. (and my parents still look in their twenties. I think it's just good genes x3) I've also got a roundish face and nose (and I love my food quite a bit xD) which is why Swift is based so much on curves and round shapes. basically she's just a toony whippet xD

Swift! Yey!
I definetly see differences between the two, like paw size and how much thicker Swifty seems to be (maybe I'm wrong? ). But I can still connect them together easily. When I first saw Swift in your gallery, I instantly knew she was a whippet, due to your interpretation of size, shape, etc (I guess it helps that my neighbor has a whippet, too x3).
I love the connections you make between reality and cartoons. They always merge so perfectly!

Wolfdog got it right - she's more puppylike. She looks more like an adolescent whippet, plus exaggerated toony things like the ear and eye and paw size.
DID YOU EVER TELL ME YOUR NEIGHBOUR HAD A WHIPPET?! -kidnaps-
Thanks for all the commenting, Cheesy, I do appreciate all of it as you know

I DIDN'T? Wow. x3. She's gorgeous, though. She was rescued at a pretty young age, my neighbor says.

this is very interesting. it would make sense that you draw her with a particular style though, because she is a particular character, apart from the generic whippet.
i'm very fond of the breed.
