Despite her obviously gorgeous looks, Alisha-Marie was initially shy about her body. She began modeling when asked to model lingerie professionally for Sunset Intimates in Savanah, Georgia. Although she had her reservations, she became one of their top models and was featured in their online catalogs and on billboards. Nevertheless, the first time I shot Alisha-Marie in 2015, she still wasn't confident enough to shoot nudes, only lingerie and implied. It is only been recently that she's gotten up the courage to allow herself to be photographed fully nude. Alisha-Marie explained her history on her instagram site (www.instagram.com/ele.ment115/… ):

"Up until a few years ago I used to be so afraid of what people would think of me... How they judge me. Obviously I will always care a little to some extent, everyone does. But my fear developed in middle/high school from awful, judgemental girls. There was never a day that went by without some comment from a girl telling me my outfit was ugly, my hair was too dark, my eyebrows are too thick, my shorts are too short, I'm too skinny or too fat. The list goes on. But let's not forget the secret whispers done just close and obvious enough to make me feel hated and uncomfortable. I was both beautiful and nice - the perfect target for other girls.
Even though grade school sucked because of that - I wouldn't change anything because it taught me that I should NEVER judge other women for anything. It taught me to be a feminist and an advocate for women of all kinds. It taught to me how much bad vibes affects another person and to try to spread good vibes only. And it taught me to be fearlessly unapologetic for who I am. And to accept others in their truth.

I'm sure I still get judged but I don't notice much anymore. I give them a wink and a smile and wish them perspective and understanding.
Don't be that woman who has to cut other women down to feel good about themselves. Be that woman who empowers other woman to stand in their truth.. WHATEVER that may be.
I WILL ALWAYS HAVE YOUR BACK LADIES."
