Description
This was taken at Tyndall AFB approx. 1979. Sorry for the poor quality, but I am having to take a picture of a picture to get it uploaded. TCD, you may recognize the bird just under the nose.Check out this link for the Vulcan Restoration Trust [link]

This weekend the last remaining Vulcan capable of flight returned to public display at the Waddington Air show. So if you want to see one fly for real, and hear the legendary HOWL as her engines reach max thrust, get thee to a UK air show THIS SUMMER!

I would like to go and see this great aircraft fly again, but alas I do not have those kind of funds. I have seen the Vulcan fly several times in the past, and it is a wonderful sight! Thanks for the fav!

Always a pleasure to find someone with an interest in great British aircraft, You should have seen her flying behind the Avro Lancaster at Waddington... Brought a tear to the eye! I'm lucky in that I live a few hundred yards from one of the best private UK air show venues there is so even if I don't go, I get a free show above my garden
There's already a TON of YouTube stuff from yesterday up if you're interested.

I'll have to check it out. Our little airshow at our local airport is next weekend. Last year we had a B-17, Lancaster, C-54, Mig 17, B-25, my friends T10 Chipmunk (which I flew for the show) and many other interesting aircraft. Some are represented in my gallery.

That looks like... Vulcan B2 XL318, if I'm correct? Luckily she's one of those that was preserved...

Well, I'm unsure about the last number of the serial: it looks like an '8', but it could also be a '9'. In both cases, though, they were 'lucky' Vulcans: '318' resides at the RAF Museum in Hendon, UK, while '319' is at the North East Air Museum in Sunderland, UK.

Thanks for the info. I tried looking at the original print, but I need a magnifing lens to see it well. It does appear to be XL318.
