In silent night
Beyond the dark
She waits alone
A songless lark.
Forever fled
Past lifeβs abyss
He lost his heart
Alone in mist.
A frantic wish,
A lucid note,
Held neither pain
Nor Fateβs own hope.
A sighing cry
At once reduced
To nothing more
Than whispered truth.
A sudden breath
Devoid of dream
Swept past the gate
An unknown sheen.
The years have gone,
Expired past
The point of peace
Or endless clash.
