The valiant Princess of Friendship fights for her school, against the nightmarish dark pony. The two are currently in the middle of a beam struggle, pushing back and forth with their blasts. Neither blast managed to prevail over the other, and both imploded. After that, the Shadow Pony shot another dark magic blast at her, that she protected herself from with a crystal-shaped magic shield (The same one she used against Twilight in "Every Little Thing She Does").

The dark blast doesn't penetrate the magic crystal with the mare inside, only push it back until its close to the edge of the school roof. After the blast, Starlight teleports back to where she was and shoots a magic beam at it, which barely makes it flinch. The Shadow Pony unleashed and shoot out it's tendrils that Starlight avoided via teleportation. On the other side of the rooftop, she sees the damage the tendrils did to the rooftop.

Starlight: *Worried* Twilight... please hurry.

She flies around the Pony of Shadows, firing multiple beams at it, before it blasts her. The blast slams her against a wall. Starlight rubs her head before looking back at the dark shadow pony, who engulfs the area in darkness, making it so Starlight can't see. When she lights up her horn, she see's the face of the nightmarish pony right in front of her, that causes her to scream and fly up. Before she can fly away, it catches her in it's mouth before swallowing her whole. It laughs in apparent victory, as we zoom into it's body, where we see Starlight inside of, helplessly floating and moving around in the darkness.

She passes by Cozy Glow, who she is surprised to see.

Cozy Glow: Help me...

She holds out her hoof and Starlight tries reaching for her, but she is forcefully moved away from her, deeper into the darkness, before she can help her. Starlight lights up her horn and begins firing magic blasts all around the inside of the Pony of Shadows. Just when it seemed hopeless, Starlight spot what appeared to be an exit. It's hard for her to fully move, but she pushes herself and flies out through it. We see her come out through the Pony of Shadow's butt and the light is back on. It turns around and looks down at her, as she gets up and looks at it with a face that says "We're just getting started". The Pony of Shadows feels spears going through its back, that are absorbed into it, before turning around to see Princess Twilight with 9 royal guards.

Starlight: Twilight!

Flash Sentry: Hope we're not late to the party.

When the Shadow pony shoots a magic blast at them, Captain Flash shouts "Forcefield" and the unicorn guards light up their horns, surrounding them all in a forcefield, that protects them from the blast. They cease the forcefield and Captain Flash points his spear forward as a signal to charge. The 3 Earth pony guards run to and surround the shadow pony, punching and kicking at its legs, while the Pegasi attack while flying up around it, and the unicorns fire magic beams from the distance.

Their combined effort proves futile and they are all pushed back by a dark magic shockwave that sent them all flying. Wind blows through Princess Twilight's sparkly mane, and Starlight teleports next to her, ready to fight at her side. They both fire large magic blasts that push the Pony of Shadows far back, nearly knocking it off it's feet. It teleports via shadows in front of them, but before it can attack, it hears somepony else not far away.

Star Swirl: Pony of Shadows! Your battle is with us!

It turns around to see none other than the Pillars.

Pony of Shadows: *Laughs* It would seem fortune has smiled upon me! The very objects of my vengeance are here. Prepare to meet your doom!

Star Swirl: Mistmane, together!

They use their telekinesis to hold the Pony of Shadows in place. They begin to swear as it struggles and Star Swirl calls out to Twilight, who uses her magic as well to hold in into place. As they hold it in place, Flash Sentry flies around it, striking it with his sword, while Starlight blasts it in the back. The royal guards, from the distance, shoot arrows from bows at it.

Flash Sentry: Careful not to hit Flash! Uh... the other Flash, not me.

They're unable to hold onto it for much longer, so Rockhoof runs to it and he leaps at it, delivering an uppercut to it's chin, that knocks it down onto it's back. He then jumps up high, before coming down and slamming down onto it's chest. The impact causing the ground below the Shadow pony to crack. He hops off it and the unicorns and alicorns (including the unicorn guards who get closer to it) all light up their horns and charge up their magic. Once it rises to its feet, it is met with multiple magic blasts from every direction.

It cries out in pain as it is being blasted. We get close ups of Twilight, Starlight, and Star Swirl's faces, as they grit their teeth while blasting it, before they cease their blasts. The Pony of Shadows falls down onto its face defeated, visibly smoking. Everypony then gathers around it.

Pony of Shadows: Till we meet again...

It shadow teleports away and the guards walk back to their princess.

(End music)

Flash Sentry: Looks like we did it.

Starlight: I just wish you could've made it sooner.

Starlight looks sadly at all the destruction caused to the school. Star Swirl puts a hoof to her shoulder.

Star Swirl: Accept my deepest condolence for your school, young princess. I assure you, we'll have it repaired in due time. But for now, we must vanquish the darkness that returns to plague our world.

Twilight: Star Swirls right. We have to return the Pony of Shadows to Limbo. But...how can we do that without the elements?

As the worried ponies wonder what to do, we go back to the cult's lair. They are gathered around the Pony of Shadows, who is laying on it's back in pain.

Cult sister #2: It would seem he is much weaker than he was in their last encounter.

Cult sister #1: Seems so. But not to worry. I have a solution.

She poofs up a magic box that she levitates up. She opens it and what appears to be a magic fireball comes out of it.

Cult sister #2: Is that... Daybreaker's magic?

Cult sister #1: It is. It wasn't easy to obtain nor store all this time.

Shadow Spectre: Perfect! With the powers of the Pony of Shadows combined with Daybreaker's, the Pillars only hope of vanquishing it would be to banish themselves to Limbo again.

She levitates herself a spell book, that has a pony skull on the cover, from the nearby bookshelf. She flips through the pages until stopping at the one she was looking for. She reads and then performs a magic transfer spell. The magic fiery orb moves above the Pony of Shadows before going down and slowly going through it's chest, melting through it. As the magic from the orb merges with the shadow pony, causing it to begin to change shape, it gets surrounded in a golden aura. We see Cozy Glow inside of it, sweating due to the heat. After a flash of light, we see the Pony of Shadow's standing in it's new form.

Shadow Spectre: Behold...the Pony of Shadows and Flames!
