Description The Earl of Durham was the owner of the Lambton Collieries, which he then sold out to Hetton Collieries in 1911 before finally merging with Joicey Collieries in the 1920s. To transport coal an extensive, 70 mile network of railways was utilized, which also built and maintained its own locomotives at its Philadelphia works. One such engine was this 0-6-0 tender engine, number 26, which was built in 1894. It is unique in that later in its life it was rebuilt and resembles BR-Standard locomotives in some ways. It served the LH&JCR until sometime in the 1960s, when it was scrapped.

I wasn't able to get very much information on this engine. It was hard enough just trying to get a photograph for reference.
