Description
It was a bittersweet moment indeed, as Maud, Carrie, Emily, Lady, Ashley, and Molly all were crying that their new friend had to go. Several other engines swooned over her and tried in vain to woo Lady of Legend as she departed. However, there was only one engine she wanted to speak with before she left."Thanks for the push yesterday." She told Hall as she sidled alongside him. "It was really quite foolish of me to try and chase off the one engine who was in the right place at the right time who dropped everything to try and help me. And," She continued "I said some truly terrible, hurtful things to you. I regret what I said, and I wish I could take them back. You have every reason to never forgive me." After initially dismissing Maud, Lady of Legend found herself taking the Midland engine's advice by being honest to Hall about her feelings.
"After everything that's happened between us, both of us have all the reasons we need to hate one another for the rest of time. But, never say never. I think you're a very nice engine, so how about we be friends?" Hall replied. For the first time, he saw a beautiful smile light up her face.
"Sure, that sounds nice!" She replied. "I've got to be off now. Maybe I'll come back some day!"
"Please! It'd be nice if you did!" Agreed Hall, and the beautiful Lady of Legend huffed and puffed out of Knapford Station yard, coated in a cloud of steam that looked like a princess' dress. Hall watched as his new friend puffed away, happy that the years of conflict between them had now been resolved. I'm quite happy for the two of them, aren't you?
