Description It was a very special day at the Steamworks. Lots of people and engines had gathered to witness the unveiling of a new engine that had been built. Previously, the last steam engine built by British Railways was built in 1960. Seventeen years had passed and Sir Topham Hatt decided that a good strategy to maximize passenger traffic was to make headlines and flock to the island. "Here he comes!" One person said. A hush descended over the crowd of people gathered to witness the reveal of the new engine. The doors to the works opened and a cloud of steam issued through the opening. A huffing, puffing sound could be heard as the new engine turned its first wheel out of the works. A peculiar form then could be seen through the veil of smoke and steam, painted in workshop grey. Gordon's eyes widened as he saw the form of an engine he had only ever seen in pictures. Emerging out of the works was an LNER U1 Garratt engine.

"Look at that!" Donald gasped with wonder.

"What an odd looking engine!" Duck remarked. Sir Topham Hatt then strode forth alongside the new engine as he crawled out of the works to meet the crowd.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I, Sir Charles Topham Hatt, take great pride in unveiling the newest member of the North Western Railway! Based upon an original design by the Great Central Railway for a four cylinder Garratt, it was my grandfather's good friend, Sir Nigel Gresley, who oversaw the delivery of the sole member of its class from Beyer Peacock of Manchester in 1925. Sadly, the original specimen was broken up at Doncaster in 1955, but the Gresley Garratt lives again, and thanks to the generous support of The Honorable Raymond Colton, the board of directors have elected to name this engine in his honor." Sir Topham Hatt announced gladly. A cloth over the new engine's nameplate was then tugged off by a workman to reveal a shining nameplate which read 'Colton.' The crowd cheered and clapped for the new engine and took his and Sir Topham Hatt's photograph. Colton gave his best, rather awkward smile to the crowd, and after the event of his unveiling at the Steamworks, he was then put to work on a battery of tests to determine what he was capable of.
