There are three things from the King and I that I am absolutely in love with: 1. Yul Brynner, 2. That marvelous ballet, and 3. dat hoopskirt.Related content

Absolutely my favorite childhood movie. Your art captures a lot of cuteness I had forgotten.

The 1956 movie is one of my all time favorites! (Because I do enjoy drawing and looking at big hoop skirts and poofy dresses) Anna looks beautiful ;u;

This comes from the animated version of King and I, which is not nearly as good btw because they changed too much of the plot, but there's an amazing scene where Anna's dancing by herself, of sorts, and spins her dress upwards to ridiculous heights. It's a beautiful fluttering effect though, you should see it on YouTube if possible. ^___^

I have seen the animated version, and I agree completely, both on the horrendous botching of the plot, and the beautiful dress twirl! The 1956 film has some absolutely wonderful dress twirls in their 'Shall We Dance' as well!

Yup, Ikr? The best adaptions of King and I including the 50's version always have that huge crinoline skirt flipping outwards. XDD
