Here are some lost files salvaged from a defunct and ancient computer.(I'm serious about that. This pic KILLED my laptop. And the fact that the RAM has kerploded, leaving me with a machine that can only handle saving one photoshop layer at a time and text only if i'm lucky, is why it's -really- not as good as it should be D: )
...anyway. Yeah. Wouldn't normally do something like this, I'm not usally -quite- this anal and obsessive about fan stuff... but I just fancied getting the anatomy book out and practising drawing a skeleton. That plus I have a lot of worldbuilding ideas hanging about doing nothing and thought it'd be nice to present them as some of Gerald's blueprinty things.
So here's me taking Shadow and going nuts
Text should just about be readable (is on this pc anyway) but I'm not expecting anyone to plough through it all XD there's a quite a few fanfiction hints in there if anyone's really interested in reading it. Not essential though XD
Apparently ARK runs on Windows. <.<'
Shadow is not mine, obviously.

Shadow is awesome and all of the science here makes sense.
While the actual 'Shadow the Hedgehog' game could've been done better, the idea of alien genetics being used for Project Shadow isn't that far-fetched.

ok i was reading this with my cousin and the first thing she does is yell out at midnight that shadow has a functional reprodective system...apperently she had a bet at school that shadow was able to reproduce....lawlz she kills me some rimes...nice pic and info though

and you good sir are wonderful, but I think you missed the part in which says he was based on the echidna legend of the "miracle of the chaos emeralds to stop perfect chaos" and so that's why he looks like super sonic and blah blah.

So I'm a Shadow fangirl (at least, I count myself amongst their numbers), I'm big on worldbuilding, and I really like obsessive detail.
Which raises the absolutely fantastic question of "why didn't I favorite this the last time I saw it?" It would have saved me all the time I spent trying to find it again. Remedying this now.

It does look a bit canine, but I know what hedgehog's faces look like. The drawing is based on a hedgehog skull that I have, Shadow's official design, and humans. This is what I got from trying to keep some of the design elements like Shadow's pointy ears, markings and big eyes, which real hedgehogs don't have. The side effect is you get a 'wolf face.'
If I was drawing a wolf, the face would be a different shape.

And talking about "technology" there is an article in Nature Journal ([link] ) describing a method to "revert" aging in mice. Maybe some time in the future... this kind of experiments... could happen. (Because seems to me like the crossing of a human and a hedgehog)

You know what, I thought I commented on and faved this a LONG time ago.
I just love this- Every time I see this I just HAVE to download and read the whole gash-darned thing.
I especially like how you added the claws- I've always wondered about that, but just eventually gave up on trying to get a solution to it.
But man, this just tickles me because I LOVE anatomy sketches and logical, science-y explanations for the illogical.
... Maaaaaaybe a little too much. Yeaaaah. Just a tad.

I read it all. o_O These were my basic reactions:
1. So his chest fur was an accident?
2. Beware the retractible claws!!! Mwahaha!
3. The tooth fairy must get tired of his regenerating teeth...
4. So Shadow, you DO have a big heart!
5. Why am I reading all this I hope I'm not turning into some lunatic fangirl or something...
6. Shadow, version 9.1. I wonder if he knows he's version 9.1? Oh, Shadow...?
Good job on all the detail on this! I don't think I'd have the patience to write this all down and draw his skeleton. The information seems to have come strait from Robotnik (the first!) himself and is very believable. Seriously, it looks real. Thumbs up, five stars and my favorite smiley
