Hahaha, thanks! To be honest, almost all of the pieces I have posted as of late have been made at work! I work 12 hour nights, and so between doing my actual job and making these, it usually takes  several hours to complete one. Makes the time fly by that's for sure! And thanks for the continued support!

spot on Alex - it really gives the impression of an object hoary with ice crystals! my favorite part is right there front center where we're allowed a tiny peek into the 'inside' of that structure. awesome job!

Thanks so much, Audre! I'm glad to hear the atmoshpere came out right, as it's hard to get the lighting just so where it's neither too much or too little. I used a diffuse map to spoof some reflections and extra specularity too!  

Edit: I also had to look up the hoary!

diffuse maps are very cool! i use them to help make the lighting appear more natural sometimes.

and LOL re: having to look up hoary. when you are as old as i am, you KNOW what hoary means
