The snowed-in Menders gather around a somewhat tired and dried-up collection of herbs; Haruspex slinks close and listens, eyes bright as they talk back and forth, arguing good-naturedly and debating the varied treatments of the ailments and wounds oft found on the island. Under Branka's watchful eye, the young second mender listened, and waited, and learned- both about herbs, and about her fellows too.
