Description
Another dip into the wide world of Hasbro's various old toy properties. Not the same "Bulletman" made by Fawcett Comics, later owned by DC Comics.
This 'Bulletman' was originally apart of the old GI Joe 'Adventure Team' from the 1970's, the same line of toys that fellow adventurer/hero Mike Power the 'Atomic Man' came from.
Like Mike Power, no real backstory/origin for their 1970's toys, except for a small comic advertisement detailing how he came to be apart of the Team.
And since they were pulling from various aspects of Hasbro's vast history, IDW Comics brought him into their short-lived 'Revolution' comic series. Still apart of the Adventure Team, alongside Joe Colton and Mike Power, as well as 'new additions' to the roster future G.I. Joe Stalker, and Miles 'Mayhem' Manheim from the MASK property. It also gave him a backstory and an actual NAME!
This version was named Richard Ruby, an aviator turned Navy SEAL, and after being honorably discharged tried to break into Hollywood as a stuntman. It is here that he and a friend developed a personal aerodynamic jetpack system with high-impact damage resistant metals. The suits maiden voyage/test flight became quite the 'trial by fire' when he had to use it to stop an overflowing river from flooding a nearby town by creating a makeshift dam.
This act of heroism caught the attention of Joe Colton and Mike Power, Richard was soon brought into the Adventure Team. Taking the codename 'Bulletman', served alongside the group for years to come, on numerous adventures and facing various perils, before eventually taking a smaller role in things when the Team disbanded. He mainly served as a recruiter for the successor unit, what eventually became GI Joe, in between attempts to gain fame and notoriety in Hollywood.
Made using various pulp hero sprites from back in the day, as well as the Cyclops sprites that they were originally. 'Bullet Helmet' comes from the head of t he bizarre 'Twelve' from Street Fighter 3.
Hope it looks good.

Nice work
Fun fact this is the golden age Bulletman, just a derivative since Bulletman is in the public domain because by the time dc acquired Fawcett dozens upon dozens of their comics had become public domain due to non renewal
