Description
And now the Saiyan Trio from Apokolips is rounded out.As stated before, with Vegeta and Nappa , this version of their story leads the three from a plundering/conquering trip to Thanagar (so Vegeta could prove himself to the King)... to suddenly discover (upon their return) that their home planet was destroyed and ends right smack dab against their race's butcher, the being known as Rogol Zaar as he's in the process of killing Vegeta's brother, Tarble.
The three warriors try their hardest to fight against the fiend, but despite the considerable power, Zaar easily bested them. Before he was able to finish them off, a Boom Tube opens up. Parademons swarm forth, pouring in, distracting Rogol while also taking the three beaten Saiyans back to their new home... Apokolips.
But as stated before, Darkseid did not save them out of some shred of kindness in his dark heart... no... he wants to mold the three into his newest weapons/slaves. While Vegeta gets to be the personal project of Darkseid himself, and Nappa gets to endure seemingly endless combat in the arena... Raditz is given to the 'kind' and 'gentle' arms of Granny Goodness.
The young Saiyan tried to take comfort in the fact that his younger brother, Kakarot, had survived... and secretly hoped that said sibling would maybe come to save him. Granny didn't take kindly to his defiance, and this sense of 'hope' he clung to, and punished him in perhaps the most cruel way one could do to a Saiyan.
She starved him. Withholding food from people in general is cruel, but for a Saiyan (and their legendary appetites) it was a new kind of hell.
Eventually, like his comrades, Raditz soon caved to the will of his new master.
When eventually (years later) sent to Earth, Raditz's reunion with his brother was not a joyful one. He had grown to HATE his brother over the years for the fact that he was spared from the cruelties of Darkseid. In fact they almost KILLED Goku when they first arrived, had it not been for Hal Jordan, Kakarot would've perished right then and there. Jordan, and Coast City, were not so lucky.
Vegeta sent out his two comrades/subordinates to other locations across the continent to sow confusion and disarray amongst Earth's heroes. Raditz was sent to Bludhaven. He promptly reduced the city to ash.
Amongst the dead was Nightwing.
Raditz continued in his mission, while also looking for any signs of his brother, before being stopped by the combined force of the Flash and Martian Manhunter. Though Raditz was able to fight through the Martian's attempts to attack his mind, thanks in part to Granny's guidance over the years to resist such mental maneuvers. He tuned his Mother Box to find a countermeasure against J'onn. The two traded blows for a while, before the Saiyan's device activated the necessary counters, allowing him to get the upper hand, and almost killing the warrior.
BUT then he suddenly found himself up against the Flash. Foolishly, he ignored the Speedster, focusing more on the Manhunter.
Then Wally decides to use the full brunt of the Speed Force. Grabbing Raditz, the Flash had him in the Grand Canyon before he knew was had happened. Despite seemingly throwing Wally off him, Raditz wasn't ready for the follow-up... racing around the Earth hundreds of times in a seeming split-second, the Flash hit the Saiyan warrior with an 'Infinite Mass Punch', knocking the Saiyan out cold... while also breaking Wally's hand in the process... not to mention severely draining him in the process.
Raditz's story, so far, ends when he regains consciousness and runs back to Vegeta, Flash and the Martian Manhunter not too far behind. While his leader was less-than-pleased to see him back, he was now (due to his own hands) down a subordinate and would need someone to occupy the others while he decided to fight against Wonder Woman. But the battle is interrupted by the arrival of a rejuvenated and powered-up Goku.
Raditz tries to pick up where they left off, but Goku had attained a new power, a new form , and try all he might... but the older sibling couldn't even land a blow on his brother. Goku (having learned alot from his time recovering) tries to talk sense into Raditz, to bring him back from the brink... but mentions that he knows about Darkseid. Vegeta and his brother stopped in shock that he knows about their master... and if Goku had hopes that he could bring Raditz back... he was soon proven wrong.
Raditz began ranting and raving to Kakarot about his master, his god, and how he's going to be Goku's as well... all while powering up all his leftover energy... and after yelling out 'Die for Darkseid!' unleashes a 'Final Explosion ' attack that devastates their surroundings and almost overwhelms the heroes... but leaves Raditz nothing but a stone statue... that crumbles to dust as it hits the ground.
BUT, like Nappa, he too has been revived by the power of the White Lantern, so his story might not be over yet.
Made this using Raditz and Vegeta sprites from the 'Extreme Butoden' game, as well as bit and pieces from my "DC Vegeta" sprite to try and give a bit more uniformity to their looks. Took some inspiration from various Kirby creations, the Parademons and Devilance in particular for clothing design reference.
Hope it looks good.

Hoping for him to go through a path similar to MasakoX's What if Raditz turned Good. XD
