Figured, since I did the version of Goku from the awesome 'Saiyans in DC Universe' What-If? by the 'Geeks for Fun ' group, why not the version of Vegeta?

As stated in the previous submission , in this what-if, the Saiyans get swapped out with the Kryptonians of the DC Universe. And thus, being Saiyans, they brought their attitude/culture to the DC Universe. But the cosmos of DC Comics are much different than that of Dragon Ball, and thus the Saiyans's violent ways make them many enemies.

In stark contrast to how things, apparently, played out with the Kryptonians... when Rogol Zaar seeks the permission of this apparent 'Galactic Council' (I'm fuzzy on the details as to who they are) that he works for... to exterminate the Saiyans, he finds a resounding YES vote from them.

During this time, young Prince Vegeta was wanting to prove himself to his father, the King, and against his father's wishes... went out (with Nappa and Raditz in tow) and took on the Thanagarians in some attempt to gain glory and conquest. Thanks in part to Zenkai Boosts and then Oozaru Ape forms, they just managed to barely succeed in destroying the capitol city of Thanagar. Flushed with pride at his accomplishment, Vegeta and his subordinates return home to show off their grisly trophies... only to realize that while they were gone... Planet Vegeta was utterly destroyed. Finding only a barren asteroid field where it once was.

Seemingly more aghast at the affront against his 'Saiyan Pride' for what transpired than anything else, Vegeta realizes that if someone is targeting the Saiyans, then his younger (exiled) brother, Tarble was undoubtedly on that list. Arriving far too late, the three Saiyans can only bear witness as Tarble is mercilessly cut down by Rogol Zaar.

The three put up a valiant fight, but this Zaar guy is someone who can easily square off with a Superman-level opponent, and try as they might... they find their already considerable power quite lacking against him. Before Zaar can finish them off, a boom tube suddenly opens up... and Parademons swarm out, acquiring the Saiyans amidst the confusion, before taking them back to their master.

Darkseid.

Long story short, the dread lord of Apokolips is no benevolent savior, and isn't looking for 'simple employees' like Lord Frieza seemingly was as he puts all three warriors through their own personal hells to mold them into his own personal devoted servants. Nappa gets to 'enjoy' the gladiatorial pits, Raditz is given over to the 'tender mercy' of Granny Goodness, but the Prince... he gets to be Darkseid's own personal project... and made into his 'adopted son'. Needless to say, by the end of it all, the trio (despite holding out as long as possible) all succumb to Darkseid's will one way or another.

Even Vegeta.

So imagine just the kind of chaos that comes calling when those three show up on Earth one day.

As with the 'DC Universe' Goku, I used the awesome artwork/designs of Adamo Zockermaul (aka: SirBalsa) to craft this stellar '4th World'/Kirby-esque outfit for Vegeta.
