I should be banned from ever reading Deathly Hollows and particularity "The Prince's Tale" for LIFE! Da** you, Rowling, just why?
So... Severus Snape yet again (I seem to have taken a liking to drawing him as a child) only this time I seem to have sticked with a less cheerful moment of his childhood.
As bitter as he appeared in the books regarding his parents disagreements, I believe he felt more hurt when they occurred then actual bitterness and disappointment. In front of others he was never prepared to admit just how much it pained him - not even with Lily - but alone, hidden by darkness, he might every now and then he just might allow himself the usual fear and sadness every child would fear in his place.
... and just pray his father wouldn't search for him to give him yet another black eye.
My friends, child-abuse is a really serious thing. If you meet someone, child or adult, who shows any signs – whichever - of once being abused, then try to help. There are too many humans in our world who are or had been mistreated, and any little bit of kindness helps.
p.s. guess who recently watched Everybody's Fine ?

It's a really beautiful drawing, and the emotions coming of it really are strong -and the description just gave me a lot of respect for ya

Well, I think the reason there aren't so many fanworks related to Snape's earlier years is because those moments are too hard a territory to juggle on, and most people want to avoid the subject of probable... lack of love in the household. It's a rather delicate subject.

Mmh, not false. I write fanfictions, in french, (I'd try to fanart, but my drawings aren't really good) and I often include Sev's parents. Thought it's not (by far) an happy subject, rather delicate, it is hard to write about without going "mélodramatique" or gore... (so it's a good training). I guess that as long as you don't treat those subject "à la légère", you can abord it in arts

I always wondered, since it was implied that Snape was abused, if he ever thought Harry was abused as well? Just something that's been nagging me.
But I love what you did with this. You can basically see the emotions in it if that makes sense.

Hight chances he might have suspected as such, but two things might have kept him from interfering. One thing could be his hatred he had for James - "just like his fatter" was what he said most about Harry, so I believe he probably had the idea of Harry = James far too crammed into his brain for anything else to come through. Second reason could be that he simply didn't want to get involved any more then absolutely necessary, because even if he had to teach the child and protect him, he was still the reminder that he (Snape) was the reason Lily died, so the less the had to deal with Harry, the better for his sanity.
Snape is a very hard character to understand, reason why even my character analyses of him took like... ages: [link]

Oh, don't blame yourself for drawing it - actually, it can serve as evidence of abuse to whatever authorities are in Spinner's End.
It's this scene in his life that makes him remind me of L Lawliet from Death Note, before he was admitted to Wammy's...
