Well this is the finished version of the lineart I submitted yesterday [link]I'm pretty happy with how the shading came out, I haven't really tried a separate underlighting shading later before, but I think it worked nicely especially on his right shoulder. The background's pretty hideous IMO, although it does a good job of staying the background, so I don't think all is lost ^_~
The character's Tethys, an angry sea creature character of mine, and I'm not sure how he's staying on that pose, he's got really strong leg muscles though, maybe he's just balancing well or gripping it with the balls of his feet or something.
Drawn in pencil, inked with a brush, scanned and coloured in Photoshop

I love how you captured the feel of him being someone used to fighting hand to hand in the simplest way possible. The wrappings around his hands. Too often I see artists who resort to all sorts of tactics to demonstrate skill in unarmed combat or martial arts, when sometimes the simplest methods work best.

Hmm I think Tethys is staying on the stick, like Spider-man! Kidding! He could just very VERY skilled and using some unknown force, but not that force from SW. 
This was done on PS? Geez, it seems everyone knows how to use PS, but me.
Anyways, the shading is great. It gives Tethys that amphibain look there. I really like that effect of his tail under the water. Also the BG looks fine to me. He looks like he's by a pier to me.

This particular pic inspired me to do my own pic. It's not quite as good as this is but it was added to my website and dev gallery. The way he does that is just mind boggling! Great work Sycle, as always.

You've never really tried a backlight before? Har! ; How could you? It's one of my most favoritest effects to use!
As always, your cel coloring is sharp, logical, etc... and I don't really mind the background at all, I think it gives the picture sort of a old monster b-movie feel

Woohoo, this looks awesome, Tethys is looking as angry as ever. The sharp/bright highlights and underlighting work really well, makes him look shiny and dynamic. Only suggestion would be to alter the shading on his bandages, as right now it looks as though they are metal and have been grafted onto his skin: They have no height/thickness. Truly great work.
