ph34r my l33t naming skills!

Well it's another new (as yet unnamed) species of mine, for those familiar with it, it's from my Cosmos universe. (and if that means nothing to you then you may safely ignore that tidbit )

He's an alien, obviously, and is roughly humanoid except with orb eyes and bony claw extensions for fingertips. (he's wearing a kind of gauntlet, but those claws are all his) As a species they're also extremely physically resilient, being almost impervious to pressure and shock related injuries, able to stand up from impacts that would have left a human as pavement pizza. The gun he's clutching is a comparatively recent piece of Cillian manufactured tech, and like a high velocity assault rifle, except it's able to correct the trajectory of bullets after they've left the gun at the expense of inertia. (think 'limited homing abilities', but the more off target the weaker they hit) The fact that they aren't great marksmen in the first place, but are tough enough to handle such a powerful weapon on the move made them ideal candidates for it's use.

I'm pretty happy with the picture, I haven't inked anything for weeks, but everything seemed to flow well, reasonable mix of detail and no mistakes, hurra. Also I had these guys bouncing round in my head so I wanted to get a concept down on paper to see how it looked. Colour wise, I stuck with my boring old cel shading, playing more with an anime style two tone shade with a third shade only where necessary. (in this case the neck and the metal) Personally I'm quite fond of the look, since if I wanted oodles of tones I'd just work on my airbrush shading. I love trying to suggest texture and 3D volume with a bunch of 2D shapes.
