Oh my gosh, that old lady! I used that exact picture for one of my face practices! It's really interesting to see an artist you look up to interpret a picture you have also drawn and see what they did differently. My drawing wasn't colored or shaded and it was more realistic, but for the most part I found the same lines and shapes that you did. Hopefully that means my eye is getting better! Love your tutorials, they're super helpful.

this is what i repect about you man. im not overwhelmed by your works and you are always exploring. I want to beome an animator and im always curious about new styles and how to adopt them i dont need tones of detail i just want to make my characters identifiable. p.s i like the drama in the two dudes and the old rich lady

Ahh! My first post I get to see from the famous Sycra! Well done Sensei! lol xD The furthest two on the audience's left look really awesome! I can't think of an animation or series that uses such a sharp chin/face styles (Except fashion croquis) Β o-o Did any particular style inspire you for these?Β

Hmmm.... Β I don't think I've been inspired too much by fashion, but if I have to name my major influences I think they would be Takeshi Obata, Akihiko Yoshida, Joe Madureira, J Scott Campbell, Hyung Tae-Kim, Kim Jung Gi and Tetsuya Nomura.

Love these!!! Β I'm currently struggling to go from a more realistic style to one I can use in a webcomic, and each attempt, I keep gravitating back to adding more and more detail and getting rid of the lines >.< Β I'm hoping that with practice I'll be able to come up with something distinct and stylized yet still in "my style" like you did with these!

I dunno Senekha, your style is pretty amazing to me! Β But I know what you mean... Β I spent a LOT of time down the realism rabbit hole, only to realize that I didn't really like is as much as I thought I did... Β More that I found it 'impressive' and I wanted to be able to do it. Β

I really love a more realistic look, but I'm working on a graphic novel (just at the writing stage and working out character sheets) and I know I wouldn't be able to update regularly if I spent as long as I do making each page that polished/realistic. XD
