The Bubak is supernatural entity from European folklore and can be found throughout the Czech Republic and neighbouring countries. The Bubak is a monstrous Boogeyman-like entity resembling a scarecrow in appearance, which allows it to hide among real scarecrows within fields. If the Bubak is not able to claim prey simply through this deception, it can also imitate the sound of a crying baby to lure those foolish enough to listen. Once close enough, the Bubak ensnares its victim within its vine-like arms, snapping them off and re-growing them just as quickly. The victims are then tossed into its cart, which is drawn by a dozen demonic cats. It is said that on full moons, the Bubak will return to the scenes of its crimes, sewing the flayed flesh of its victims into a macabre cloth.
