Wow, this is one of the very few things that I've gone weeks without looking at and still been proud of when I see it again. I'd planned on making new references for all of my loons and posting them all at the same time, but I only finished Cae and got halfway through Noctla when I moved back home from college and foolishly didn't save the work-in-progress files on stash. Said files are now inaccessible to me, locked away on my glorious desktop that I can't unpack because my parents are dead set on cleaning out the million and one boxes we've had sitting in our computer room for most of my life. So, a number of things led to me deciding to post Cae's ref early. One- I decided I need an "adult" loon to send on the summer event journey, as the thought of sending five loonlings off alone riddled me with guilt. Cae is, despite now having two forms, still my simplest adult loon. Two, I promised almost half a year ago that Cae's goldfish tail wasn't gone for good, and if I was going to use her for the event, I wasn't about to keep it hidden for months more that it had finally made its return. Cae probably won't be getting any additional upgrades from this event, but... I wanted her along.

A few notes- the marking along her side is the same on both sides of her body and is the same shape when she's in both forms; it just looks a bit odd here in her mervoloon form because of the angle she's at. These markings are supposed to look metallic in both forms, shiny silver and orangey-gold, so using multiple colors to capture that is best. Oh, and her antlers and hooves are supposed to be metallic, too. Also, the sails/fins/what-have-yous running down her back in her mervoloon form- it's hard to tell from this angle, but there's two of them running down the sides of her body, just inside the shoulders, not one running down her spine.
Anywho, I think that's everything I wanted to say. Hope you all enjoy the new and improved ref!

For upgrade purposes, I'm using the single free upgrade I earned from Bot's Birthday Bash to give Cae unlimited body color. The mervoloon upgrade I already earned during last year's summer event, and I'm using another free upgrade from the summer event for her frills/sails. Oh, and I finally designed her Squidchicken, also from last year's Summer Event.
