Wow but it's been a looooooong journey with Noctla. Even though technically Pardal was my first loon... sorry, but I think Noctla will always unofficially have that spot for me. She was the first loon I sketched out (wow did she turn out differently than she was planned), the first color palette I decided on (baby tapir+tree swallow), the first of my loons to participate in an event (and the first to be in a second), the first to get upgrades... the first to deviate from her planned upgrades X'D, and the first to reach her final design. Somewhere in the middle there, I became convinced that she wasn't that great of a design- too complicated, too many colors, too many markings, too many upgrades... but damn, recently (maybe starting with Kas drawing her lol) I rediscovered that hey wait, Noctla is fucking gorgeous and I need to love her more ahhh my beautiful girl <3 This reference has actually been sitting unposted in my stash for months, and today I finally went, retouched some parts, and now I'm posting it! At 2:30 am. On a day I have lab. When I've had a ridiculously shitty past 48 hours. That's how much I love my girl.

Some notes on Noctla that might help you draw her if you ever make the questionable decision to draw her: here she is without wings and companions so you can see all her markings and stoof and that damned feather tail I worked so hard on. Also, she's got a split feathered tail that should look "flat" at the bottom when it's spread out since the outer feathers are so much longer than the inside ones. Took me way too long to figure that out. Also, it's probably best to keep her tum, stripes, and body gradient all on different levels. And all her feathers on their own layer too. And here's the key to her mood stone (there are additional details concerning that in the description) and the one and only picture of her that shows her paw pads. XD

Oh, and her companions are named Sir Bean Bellyscoot (the frozequin) and Siesta (the squicken).
