I am youngI am short
I am the nerd, dork, and geek
I am the gamer
I am the writer
I am the professional doodler
I am the one who jokes and laughs with no worries
I am the one whose circle of friends is becoming smaller and smaller
But I am the one who is fearless
I am the one who you now make fun of daily
Was I ever as fearless as I thought?
Do you realize what your comments do?
I'm so confused
Now I am the one who is unsure
I want my laugh to be like it used to,
Full and carefree,
Instead of the quiet and worried you have made it
I want to be able to be myself,
Without the hate you make sure to bring
I want to not have to be what I know I'm not,
Yet I want to be someone your proud of
I want to be someone you can't wait to get to know
But the wall is already built
Higher and higher it rises
Until I question who I really am
Do I even know anymore?
Did I ever even have an idea?
Without realizing it, I started to believe you
I am girly
I love the color pink
I shall wear bows in my hair
I want my appearance to stay the same
I like living where I am
I won't ever leave my family behind
I'll make sure I take care of them
I'll make friends with people who are stuck up and uncaring
I'll listen to music that other people like
I'll give up my dreams of traveling
I'll learn what you want me too
I'll never be as independent as I think I can be
But most importantly I am straight
No need to wonder
Right?
I think your wrong
I will go where I please
I will learn what I want
It won't be useless
I will choose my own friends
I will listen to what I want
I will keep all of my dreams close
But most importantly
I will work through the confusion
And one day I will come out to you as who I am
On that day I will have undone all the confusion you put on me
And I will be strong
I will be me
