Racheakt - "The Act of Vengeance"

No Jet, you're not alone - unfortunately, it's not any company you'd want...
(Like I'd throw over a chance to introduce a Mephistopheles-type OC? Psh.).

Panels 1 and 3 used heavily editted screencaps.

Anuzayin isn't Death - far from it. It's... something else.

I figure once jet knows he's going to die, he'd be kinda pissed off that his noble sacrifice doesn't preclude suffering. poor guy.

I once wrote a short fic where Aang met a very weird version of Hermes... I never got to finish it because my computer ATE half the document. Wonderfully creepy demon dude, btw. I love the font.

weird like in disney's "hercules" Lenon-weird, or hitting-the-ambrosia-too-hard weird? Many thanks to ~Torgard for providing the font!

Little bit of both. XD He was a smoker. And a cynic. But he still liked playing jokes and favored tricksters.

(I thought the design in Disney's movie was awesome, even though it was totally wrong. Come on, "make love not war" Hermes? And he was BLUE!)

I think the animation crew just had waaaaay to much fun with that movie.

SkysongMA In reply to sylvacoer [2007-04-01 14:54:51 +0000 UTC]

It was like Yellow Submarine, except not quite as weird (or as good, since YS was totally hand-animated).

...Seriously, can you imagine them pitching some of the character designs: "Everyone is going to have swirly elbows! And Hermes? HE'S GONNA BE BLUE!"

If people were expecting a lot of blood and gore going in... the next couple of pages are going to be really boring. But it's plot-driven, really! (and the nakedness is just as important...)

*biting nails* Ohh, Jet! Go to the good side!
Freaky shadow characters are not your friend.

Hmm, I can see the screenap on panel 1 ,but I am lost on panel 3. It seems pretty seamless, which is probably your intent.

Heh - I should think people know by now Jet's very much like Zuko - he has an end, and will do whatever is necessary to achieve it. 'sides, he's just learned that taking the hero's route ends with painful death and people still hating your guts.

froggieblender In reply to sylvacoer [2007-03-30 08:01:28 +0000 UTC]

True, he did get his ass haded back to him, for doing a good deed.

Still, he had his brief moment of glory, that has to speak for something in his psyche.

You've got to be the biggest Jet fan that I know of. Such devotion to a dead character. (Don't hit me with the frying pan, or I'll have to pull out my boomerang...yeah I've finally lost my mind over Sokka XD)

I admire your work and effort to do this dojin though. That you can do things so much faster is something I want to improve about myself. Well heck, I want to improve so much of my ability, before I feel comfortable posting anything. I'm such a perfectionist that I get defeated by my own personal critic.

meh, my philosophy on posting before something is perfect is that i will never be perfect unless people can tell me what i need to improve on. ya just gotta face the music before you get any better.

and i would not hit you for saying jet is dead - i WOULD dispatch anyone with skillet-sama if they had the tackiness to tell they were happy about it.

It does - but was it enough? That's one of the underlying reasons for me doing this doujin.

Looking back on how much I have read I should probably be shot or something If memory serves me correctly my drama teacher loved it. And a couple of my English teachers too. Well, now my intrigue for your doujin has been spiked a couple more levels and I didn't really know that was possible (I have some sorta unhealthy fascination with zombies...I blame my cousins. You just shouldn't let sheltered eight year olds play Resident Evil...it messes them up later in life ) but I can't wait to see how this plays out

heh - would you beleive i've never owned a gaming platform in my life? all my time was taken up with reading. I guess that's why I's a little surprised by the number of people who say they love zombies - the closest I've ever gotten are the references to Lemurs (vengeful undead) in Roman stories. and bram stoker's dracula, natch.

Lol I didn't own it, my cousins brought it to my great grandmother's funeral. I've always been more of a reader than a gamer too but I got re pulled to the zombie thing when I got old enough to see R Rated Movies. Dracula and Frankenstein's Monster and the Mummy stories were as close as I got after the first dosage for a long time though
