I love it overall, but no one (including me) seems to really get the SCALE of the galaxy right, it always looks like a little disk

Wow! This is quite different from most space art pieces. Very nice! Pitty you're going to give them a rest. Are you going to focus on some other area?
By the way, I was wondering what elements in this pic are 3D. I do 3D stuff too, but it's not immediately apparent to me what you're using your 3D suite for. Particle systems? Did you model the galaxy?

amazing its as if everything is trying to escape from the central core (also a little side knowledge comets tails always point directly away from the nearest star they are at due to solar wind

i have no critique for the piece itself, the technicals are flawless as usual, but i would love to see something crazy new form you. maybe add some photo manip spice into a piece? or some crazy event happening. try to spice up your work, challenge yourself, test your limits. you obviously have this style down perfectly, you can pull off like none other, so try something new.
