Description A little something to say to those out there that think grey wolves "desperately need help." The grey wolf is NOT on the endangered species list, however there are other subspecies that are WAY more threatened than them.

My first stamp, and it's about wolves. If this bothers you, you don't have to tell me about it, because I know that it will irritate some people. I'm just trying to make a point, I'm not saying that I don't like grey wolves. I simply don't think that they NEED as much support as they're recieving.

Yes, save the gray wolf. By saying that, you're saying that all of the other wolves are more important. No. All animals are citizens of this world and ALL animals, yes even gray wolves, have the right to be protected. Gray wolves almost went extinct before computers were invented and we shouldn't reach that point again happen again.Β
Besides, there are gray wolf species such as the Yukon wolf, certain variants of arctic wolves as well as Eurasian wolves that need to be protected, therefore you're saying that they deserve to die out.Β
You do NOT support wolves whatoever. Actually, people like you do more harm than good.

I personally don't support extreme conservation of red wolves as they are actully the result of a coyote and gray wolf breeding with one another. I don't know much about the other subspecies though, so I'll do research on that.

And although I agree the Ethopian wolf is indeed endangered, I can't help but point out those aren't actuel wolves. They're actully closer releated to the jackals XD

No they're not. The Red Wolf is a distinct species.

Dude that's just unfair..

So it's bad to say "save the gray wolves and not others", which I agree it's self I think,
but it's "good" to say "don't save the gray wolves, only save others"?
That's JUST as hypocritical.

Note: If your personality just saving gray wolves and not others because it's what you personality like to do, that's fine, as long if you don't tell others to do the same by force.

By listing the Mexican, Vancouver Island, Himalayan, Arabian, etc wolves... you are still saying "Save the Gray wolf".... because those are all subspecies of the Gray wolf.

They are subspecies, but by "gray wolf" I was referring to the wolves in the northern US and Canada that most wolf fans talk about when they say "save the wolf". The Yellowstone wolves were (and still are) big topics of discussion, but as far as the wolf bandwagon is concerned, other subspecies in need of help have been overlooked.

I figured you were. That subspecies is called the Mackenzie Valley wolf, or Canadian wolf (Canis lupus occidentalis). In case you feel like changing it.

My point exactly - I would say that the gray wolf was the beginning of a change in the relationship between humans and wolves, but I also think that people are refusing to let go of it when there are many more wolf species that need it. The mexican wolves, the red wolves, Ethiopian wolves, and the Vancouver Island wolves are among those who need it most, in my opinion.

Ah, FINALLY a stamp that I can fully agree with!
You're absolutely right, I'm tired of seeing people whine about American grey wolves while they're not even endangered!
And all the other canines/grey wolf subspecies (or just endangered animals in general) that do need help are overlooked and forgotten!

I have some questions about your statement though, if all wolves go extinct then wont there be a population explosion of herbivores that wolves hunt?
The problem is already starting to increase where I live we have an over population of deer and a drastically low population of Red wolves. Wouldn't that cause an unstable(er) ecosystem? I don't mean to question your opinion I'm just asking a question I don't care if you answer it or not it IS your opinion.

Again you don't have to answer my question. And no I don't have anything against you. But if you do answer my question then please give me details why you think wolves should go extinct.

I am not being mean I just am curious.

no need to be snappy (that's how you worded it) I asked a question you didn't have to answer I stated that many times.
