Used derwent watercolour pencils until I got sick of them, then used crayola coloured pencils. 15x20cm. 7 hours.

the c o l o r....makes me want to faint. it's so...appropriate to create "the mood". and the way you mixed..what? pink/purple? with the blue for the lighter colors of her skin and how you left the white as highlights is striking. it gives the color real depth. so did you actually use black to shade? if you did that's really interesting since that's usually not adviced, but you really pull it off here. it doesn't look muddy at all. if you didn't, then god tell me what colors you mixed to make them so dark! i'm guessing the light pink/purpley color was watercolor pencil?

Yeah, it was mostly purple, it was a mix of watercolour pencil and normal pencil for all the colours. And I actually used my normal graphite pencil to shade in the background, and dark blue in the hair.

Good work! Derwent makes many different types of colored pencils. I like the drawing pencils and the coloursoft pencils, but I think the rest are quite bad. Prismacolor is always a suitable choice as are Van Gogh and Faber Castell.

Yeah, I rushed the hair, because I could have spent hours doing it and have it slighty less crappy, or 40mins and like that.
