hmmm, just by looking at it... was
thinking you where using After Effects.
*Love the perspective/lens angle.
Only thing I could suggest to add to
the shot would be some "Mystical Heat"
or "Myst" coming off the body and
emitting from the hands

This image speaks power! It's all so bright and beautiful.
I don't think the tattoos on the left (our left) arm are set convincingly into his skin, but apart from that, I see little flaw.

There's a rather lovely impression of power barely contained in this that I particularly enjoy, that and the way you've done his eyes

nice work love the effect you have made, also a sigil is a symbol which is created for a specific use, commonly used in forms of magic then empowered by the user usually through meditation or other forms of centring ones power.

thank you for that tidbit, do you see a sigil here?

thats alright, mmm depends how you look at it, i don't really see a sigil as such to me it looks more like an ancient text from some other civilisation but that is just my view.

I think that the left side of your head is a bit too overexposed. my eyes were always drawn to that point on the picture instead of the pretty colors that make the picture. i am not familliar with what is going on in the picture but it definatly interested me.
Impressive work.

Really nice. Reminds me of summoning Espers from FF...
the blue of the eyes pops out a lot, they seem ignited by something, whether a feeling or someone.
Also the contrast between the outfit and the "antique" effect of the gold details.
Good work!

Ebony skin,
Solar blue eyes,
He stepped forward in the circle,
Ad began weaving,
A low chant, evoking the elements,
A louder mantra, entreating the spirits,
He lit two candles
βOne for door, one for the keyβ
His resonating voice filled the room,
βIn calling onceβ
The air crackled as the energy began to become visible in the air
βIn calling twiceβ
Symbols orbited his arms as they open wide and rose over his head.
βIn supplicationβ
A third candle burst into life un-nurtured
βThriceβ
His palms clapped together like thunder over his head,
The sun fire coloured symbols vanished in midair,
A pale skinned woman knelt in the circle,
βRise woven oneβ
βShe stood up in front of him, in kissing distanceβ
βWelcomeβ
βWelcome to your new worldβ

Heh.
More than a little.
Djinn form the verb janna "to hide, to conceal"
In my case, I reversed the idea to make something appear
'The pre-Islamic Zoroastrian culture of ancient Persia believed in jaini/jahi, evil female spirits'
Whoops. Games up. Im a mytholgy geek.

You know...I was really tired of this effect, but I like that you've used it to draw sigils instead of just floaty leafy viney thingies. It lets one be curious.
Nice.

Synthetamine In reply to avfc4me [2009-08-17 04:12:02 +0000 UTC]
what effect are you talking about, and what are sigils?
π: 0 β©: 1
avfc4me In reply to Synthetamine [2009-08-17 04:27:10 +0000 UTC]
The effect I'm referring to is the lines of light. I've seen them as (I don't know what one would call them, but I think of them as hoola-hoops of lighting) lines, and I've seen a lot of the flowery-viney-leafie sorts of things, done in light or in flat paint -- there was a phone company, I think, that did their whole web site where the user could paint the little viney-flowerythingies all over...
But a sigil is a symbol, usually intended for magic or spiritual use. You'd find them in the old religions especially, and many fantasy/sci-fi environments. I think you could consider a sand painting to be a sigil, or a pentagram or cross, when drawn with the purpose of trying to invoke protection or some spiritual attention. In your image, you have some drawings in the leftish area, done in the lighted effect, and it gives the impression of magic (appropriate for a djinn, I think), and it gives the whole image a bit of weight, a story, some history and ties to something, you know?
Anyway. I like it.

excellent, oh yes, mind you, I HATE lens flare. Watching the star trek movie was very conflicted, I kept thinking "it looks awesome... but its LENS FLARE". But its the compulsory use of photoshop and adobe illustrator's lens flare that we're all grown to hate.
actual lens flares using the physical properties of light refraction is quite a bit different, I've realized. I'm glad you feel these flares help the image.
