Actually a funny picture. Both are fighting without masks (although judging by the man in the background they are). Judging by the fact that there is protection only on the body, it is most likely a battle by the rules of rapier fencing.
At the same time, a blow is struck to the head (the rules of fencing on rapiers prohibit injections wherever except in the body). It becomes clear that the manβs surprised face, his opponent, is trying to deprive his eye and most likely either does not know or consciously violates the rules.

Really love the story this piece tells. From the whispering man on the right, to the seemingly interested woman in the back, to the sweat on the dueling man's brow(sorry if I don't know where this is from :/). Fabulous style you have and even more fabulous piece you have here!
