In case you didn't know, I'm doing DeviantArt's Drawtober challenge this year to get some cool badges for my profile because I like collecting stuff. (All of the info can be found here if you wanna join in too!)

Today's prompt was "thorny" so I decided to draw LX-03 Ivy from a story I'm working on named LunaStriders!

LunaStriders is a sequel to The Witch's Revenge. Dr. Matilda Watson invented Mechanites in 2018, when she created the WRX-01 Mantis with her small team at Watson Robotics.. But now, Mechanites are a thing of the past. These smaller, faster and more powerful mechs are the cool new thing in technology.

Created by Luna Garcia, LunaStriders are an experimental series of mechs being manufactured by Eclipse. Luna was born in 1996 and in 2023, she decided to change the world by imagining smaller mechs that focus on using magic to maximize speed and destructive power, while ignoring most of the armor and depending on magic barriers to defend themselves against attacks. The LunaStriders utilize a complex network of tubes to harvest the magic from the magic crystals on the Strider's armor and feed it to the mech's body, (𝘴𝘪𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘢𝘳𝘭𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘣𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘷𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘴 𝘥𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘣𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘳𝘦 𝘣𝘰𝘥𝘺 𝘪𝘯 𝘢 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘰𝘯), which enchants it and allows it's pilot to move it twice as fast. It also allows them to use elemental attacks, which vary depending on the types of crystals that they're equipped with.

LunaStriders are basically light-weight enchanted mechs that are smaller, faster and much more deadly. All of them levitate and don't walk on the ground, which allows them to move a lot faster than a walking target since they just float around and shoot you until you can't keep up with them.

Lasers work very well on them, since the magic barriers can't stop them from passing through, so a lightsaber or an advanced cannon will be able to attack them.. Drones also used to work well on the first prototype of LX-01 Lun, but after an update, LunaStriders can now fire off an Electromagnetic Pulse/EMP to temporarily or permanently disable nearby electronics, rendering most drones useless.

Some of them can even use light magic to create illusions so that their opponents can't see them clearly.
== 𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘬 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨!

This is Ivy. LX-03, the third experimental mech in the LunaStriders line. It attacks with plant magic, which can create giant, 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘳𝘯𝘺 vines to hold it's opponent still while it fires at them with it's cannons. It can also use it's plant magic to secrete acids at it's enemies, which only works well on very few units since most armors will handle acids with ease.

Nearly every LunaStrider lacks hands, which reduces their cost (𝘏𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘴 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘢 𝘭𝘰𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘫𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘭𝘰𝘭) and instead have some sort of weapon stuck to their arm instead. Some use cannons, some use sniper rifles and some even use laser blades.
