...dooooos! |DOh yes, it's been a while since I drew pokemahns...I should draw them more. There's some pretty neat ones. Especially Zapdos has been one of my favourites since I saw it. ... During 2000-2002 I drew so many Zapdos pics you couldn't even believe...
Now I wanted Zapdos look like Zapdos so I didn't made it too "realistic" what my style does sometimes too much... This is how it should look like. Notta like some bird which really exist, just thunderbird based monster. <3 And just these kind of pictures I drew a LOT years ago. Zapdos in thunder. Classic, but works. And so easy to draw I had fun while drawing this now. ...and for me Zapdos has been a bit devilish too... <3
Ink and colour pencils. Lightnings are living, so I didn't skethed them too well before inking...and I was going to use some aquarels too but then I fell in love with that texture what this paper gave, so I just coloured it with pencils...

^^ It was always one of my favourite monsters. Do you remember the first time it was shown, coming across that ridge in the second movie, sparking like hell and damnation? That got me somehow. Fantastic job on this, it looks very powerful and fierce!

I think I saw it in the first episode of Pokémon in the first day the whole show appeared here...but back then I had not any idea what it was. x> But then cards and especially movie appearance made it one long time favourite of mine. Well, hello, legendary thunderbird, too awesome for ten years younger myself. |D

Zapdos itself is gorgeous, but I love the background... It's somewhat web-like, and gives an onimous look to it...

The shading caught my eye first...I love how you show the anatomy so well.

Zapdos was always my fav from the original legendary birds (before they added Lugia and Ho-oh .)
I still think he looks 'realistic' in your style. 
And out of the whole image, what caught my eye the most was his eye. It gives him this defiant outlook. I think that totally gives away his personality.

Ooh, Thunder, my favorite out of all the legendary birds. I love lighting in this alot.
I think a realistic Thunder would look very nice if you drew it.
