Description My Polyphase Avatron marionette . A few years old and no longer with me but thanks to stored pic.s in Photobucket I was able to bring it back. Note I only made one. I took photos of it while it was being made, the thing was complex. The wings moved by a system built into it's back.

I'm posting it now because recently reminded me of the robot parrot, making a deviant himself of it.

...I had it on display in the model room for Starfest '09. No one recognized it and there were a good number of Doctor Who fans at the convention. But of all things and not as near a replica, people recognized my K-9 Mark 1 which it was sitting by. (To those wondering why I say "Mark 1", I've made two k-9s).

Thanks . Yeah the wings moved, at least the bottom parts did. That can be seen in the deviant. There was a system built into the back which in short had the back comprised of two layers, one thick connected into the bulk of the body, then a thin layer. These layers were attached to mini-wheel-thimbles, attached to the lower wing halves. These thimbles were attached to strings that joined together and went up the back and through a tube located in between the upper wings. Yanking on the string out the top moved the lower wings up and down.

!
Only that first K-9 model . It failed on the main convention floor but worked other wise. The second K-9 was meant to move as well but couldn't except the ears. ..You didn't want to get near them when turned on.

Man, that's nice! It's a pity nobody recognized it. I rather liked the PA, when it wasn't being... you know... homicidal. Although the fight with K-9 was the best thing ever.

Thank you . Hee would you believe I made both, pairing them together at the convention only for it to dawn on me at the con. it was a perfect match?
