Wow yeah that is interesting lighting! I don't think I would've noticed without oaksong mentioning it, but it's totally added this new dimension to the picture for me. It's a really interesting image; you're very good at this whole abandoned/isolated object thing, and I can only say keep up the great work. The textures, the light, the contrast between colour as well as the the ominous feel and the optimism shown by the sunlight shining through underneath the chassis is just, super.

This is a wonderful photograph. For me, the cloud in the background emphasizes the textures of the truck. And the dark blue of the sky is quite amazing. I find the lighting very interesting. No one seems to have questioned how well lit this side of the truck is when it's clear that the major light source (a rising sun?) is on the other side. It doesn't look like a flash was used, because there are no shadows or reflections. What provided the reverse lighting?

I actually did use the flash. I angled it upward with my hand toward the body of the truck and away from the ground.

this one is really nice. colours, focus are great.
my suggestion: dodge the wheel a bit, it's too dark in that area, needs some contrast to focus on !

Hm, I feel that way sometimes, but on the other hand, I often feel I'm only here to protect other people. Weird as it may sound *shrug* but I like this, it hits you head on, and the title fits as well..

very nice man. you're really good at showing the isolation and stuff. i like how the picture is on level with the car/truck, not above it (since it's low because the wheels are off). the dirt gives it a desert feel.
and yes, i do feel like we're all unnecessary, but i also think we have to make ourselves necessary by reaching out to others. by becoming part of another person's life, we make ourselves needed and wanted, and that's one of the best feelings in the world.
