Description
To be out of place, to die before your time. Neither of which are wanted in retrospect.I found this fella on the window sill.
This was taken with my new 50 1.8 Canon. Ask if you want to know how it was done.

i love the detail and the blue... first time i've EVER looked at a fly and thought "wow, that's beautiful!"

Oh man, this's messing with me... it almost looks like it's shot through glass, maybe in a glass of water, but the light is so smooth in the background.
I'm stumped and a little curious... how'd you get the shot like that?

I actually hooked my kit lens up backwards to my 50mm. It results in a great deal of magnification with a really shallow depth of field.
Thanks for the too.

excellent lighting and hue. why did you name it "tyrant"? i think it's ironic that such a 'large and domineering' name be given to a small thing like that, but i like it. it's almost oxymoronic.
nice pic.

Well, because a fly is a pest, a tyrant. I was actually going for the opposite effect too though.

This is an incredibly amazing shot. The color is great, and the position that you caught the fly in adds to the impact of this piece. Bravissimi!

Well, actually the fly is dead. That is the position he died in.
He was pretty crisp when I found him. Lol.

Damn! You can see the DIRT on it's EYEBALL!!!!
Nice work! I heartily commend you for screwing around with abstract lens adaption. That's just sooooo not-lazy. (Is there a good word for not-lazy?)

I used a ring that I bought that attaches my 18-55mm kit lens to the front of my 50mm backwards. Which, obviously, leads to magnification, but with it a very shallow depth of field.
