Good luck! I'm approaching it a little different now. Instead of blocking out the shadows, lights and intermediates roughly and then go all the way to 100% detailing piece by piece I bring the whole thing up in level of detail gradually.

I'm confused how you went about adding the shading. I feel like you had a sketch layer, a highlights/shadows layer, and a midtones layer (first three panels), but I can't tell what you're doing after that. Are you working on a new layer above the other ones? How do you make the blending so smooth? Do the other layers show through at all in the finished piece?

I'm using a hard round brush with pen pressure set to opacity aswell as width of the brush. And then I just shade it by hand. No more tricks after that. I pick the shade of grey that I need and paint over the blocked out shadows c: They're on the same layer.

Not really. Usually I do Outlines first -> Flatcolors -> shading layer (the bw one) -> finishig touches layer
If I remember I can do a step by step of that process some time aswell c:

das mit dem schwarzweiß schattieren und nachträglich färben muss ich auch mal testen. Weil mit dem von anfangan jede Farbe einzeln mischen, also vom Farbton UND helligkeit her. Das wird mir manchmal schon etwas zuviel. :/

Und jap die ist seit nen paar Bildern erst dabei. Aber noch funktioniert sie nicht ganz so wie ich mir das vorstelle. Da muss ich nochmal dran rumwursteln.
Ich mach das selten, dass ich direkt mit Farbe arbeite, wenn es um den Character geht. Aber bei HGs z.B. mach ich nie nen Greyscale. Komisch eigentlich.

Momentan ist sie tatsächlich mit unterschiedlichen Grautönen gemacht. Ich will sie aber lieber mit unterschiedlichen Transparenzen haben, sodass ich sie auf multiply stellen kann, ohne dass das weiß verschwindet.
