Right so i'm in the throws of my biggest project yet. A 40 page comic.I thought i'd upload this as a little promo piece. Featuring the characters in the comic, all of which are pre-existing ones of mine.
It's fun doing something with them as most of them i haven't really (except Alex he was in my first comic 'Terry').
It's due to be printed around easter time, so i've got a lot of work to do before then. I've probably done about 1/3 of the pages for it right now.
I'm going to the printer's on friday to feel some paper
I want it to be a really nice object in it's own right. SO IT NEEDS FRICKING NICE PAPER!I will be selling it when it's done as well
The story is essentially about change and it's kind of got a weird and surreal element to it. It takes place over about half an hour with 6 character's in groups of 2. They don't intertwine, the connection is it's all happening at the same time. Oh! and it's wordless
I have a question i've been asking people though because i can't make up my mind....
It's called 4am but it features a sunrise about half way though which is only just about feasible on the longest day up north somewhere here in the UK.
4am was just originally it's working title but i've got used to it now a would like to keep it.
So what i'm asking is how much of an issue it is?? Would it bother people enough that i should call it 5am instead? The story also features a nightclub which could be open till 4 or 5 really...
I would appreciate your opinions
(the number 4 also has a triangle in it's shape which is a point in it's favour...i like triangles)

I don't think that the time's a problem. Just call it 4AM as you planned and wanted, I don't think it's an issue at all. In summer the sun rises at about 5 here in Czech Republic, so it's possible and it's ok.
Looking forward to it. I know it's probably too soon to ask, but have you got any idea of how much would it cost? I'm a student with no work, not even a occasional one, so I need to know how many coins should I pick from pockets and fountains 'til Easter.
And that is a very nice promo indeed! The black brush lines on the sides look really neat. :> I'm looking forward to it!

Well i've been getting quotes and doing things about printing this week so i have a rough idea. Before i knew about printing costs i though abut £10 would be a good and easy figure. So even if printing costs a lot more i don't think i'd be happy selling it for much more than that!
Printing is expensive especially with so many pages, it's going to be the first that i can't print myself. Which will make it high quality but i guess that comes at a price. Although i am looking to do all the assembling myself to keep the price down.
But the sad truth in a lot of cases of self publishing i can really just hope to break even as well as investing a lot of my time.

really love the circles around the characters, and the expression of the three of them on the side of the boats its my favourite of this, specially the girl with the open hands.
