yeah, still not as sharp as i would have liked, im undecided about whether the problem is the camera, me or the model probably a combination

no macro lenses, no...but my 18-55 mm does alright...but not miniscule.
I'm not online because I'm sneaking in here in between fixing the total house upheaval that mums working on Good side to that, I now have a double bed for the rest of the hols

Well, are you holding the camera...or is it free standing? Try putting in on the desk and setting the shot up, then press the button and then don't touch it. That way your own body movement wont affect the shot.
If its still not quite sharp... and various combinations of shutter speed and ISO etc etc don't fix it (don't be afraid of the (M) setting)...then I'd say its your camera
