Description
Encounters in the Cypress SwampWhile wading through the waters of a cypress swamp, an young Tyrannosaurus rex is stumbling across an Acheroraptor temertyorum, which is taking a free ride on the back of the nodosaurid Denversaurus schlessmani across the difficult terrain. The scene takes place in what is now Western North America during the latest Maastrichtian (66 million years ago).
This artwork was painted over two years ago specifically for the Saurian's field guide/paleoart book. You can get the book here -> sauriangame.squarespace.com/pr… .
The appearance of the animals featured in the painting are based on Saurian's original designs.
Medium: Acrylics on cardboard.
Size: 35 x 50 cm.
Done: March 2016.

Oh! Such terrain gives the TRex a slight advantage. The target can’t hug the ground to protect it’s belly without drowning.

It has, indeed! After the last time it got high on shrooms by mistake, nothing has been quite the same. And now it is seeing a raptor riding a walking tank. Stuff like that can get the best out of a dinosaur.

As far as I understand, though, the look is a bit outdated now. Shoulder/neck spikes weren't as large as depicted here.
