Description
This is a sketch I did in high school. It's out of a comic book I used to like. The word "Frazetta" shown here is the signature of the comic's creator (Frank Frazetta) along with a bastardization of my own.I thought it was pretty funny when I stumbled across it, just because it reminded me of how goofy I was in high school. I remember every page of the book was some grotesque fight scene with blood, guts and limbs flying everywhere. What can I say... high school kids these days. But yeah I guess it's sort of interesting. I often stumble across images like this when I'm browsing DA or whatever and I find that I'm pretty judgemental. But for most people I think it's just a phase, and it could just be the beginning of something wonderful.
It's black ink on 8.5x11" printer paper, aged eight years for flavour. It will be moved to the scraps section in a few days. For now I think it's fun to showcase some old stuff.

I like it. I'm a big Frazetta fan from way back. Have you heard of Richard Corben.

Where do I know Frank Frazetta from ...? Did he do Conan stuff? *looks thoughtful*
Anyway, this is a great piece - it really stands out from the rest of your style (though for good reason by the sounds of it! ) Gotta love the chaos and the disembodied limbs ...

I'm a big fan of Frazetta's Death Dealer, and have one of the newer comics from the limited series signed and numbered by Simon Bisley whom did the art for it at the time.
I also loved the books in the series well before that by James silke, you've definitely rendered him well here.

As silly as high school boys are about geysers of gorey humors spurting hither and yon, this is still a really fantastic picture. I'm glad you wrote that it was a sketch ala Frazetta because I sat there irritably muttering "Who do this remind me of... dang it... it's right there... grumble..."
As far as people offering advice about your artwork, not that I see it needs any critique that *I* could offer (I have yet to draw a cartoonish yet realistically violent massacre and I suppose I'm long overdue...), I just take it for what its worth, then use it or dont use it. I have my twin sister here to do most of my editing for me -- "Megan, that nose. It's all wrong..." "But, Jennifer, it's Steve Yzerman... his nose has been broken fifty billion times. It's *supposed* to look wrong!" Anyway, if it's pretentious nit-picking, then you'll know it, it's okay if it offends you, but just chuck it out the window. Life's too short to be bothered by art turkeys.

that's great.... you make me feel humbled with this piece, because I recently submitted a bunch of my high school stuff, and most of it is not very good.

OMG Cool!
A 40-something-year-old friend of mine showed me original pics of him. He's so cool! You did a great job.
