Description Back when I was a kid and when my dad had his job, He bought me a GBA SP along with my first GBA game, Super Mario World... I spent ALOT of time playing with it as a kid, I always got punished for playing alot and several years later... I always bought games for it and some games weren't even worth didley dick.

One day, mom took all 30 of my GB/GBC/GBA games along with the SP and accessories and hid them or gave them away and I never saw them again. I curse my mother for doing such an unforgivable thing. Such as taking GBA SP and all my other games and NEVER giving it back. I had all 30 games until mom gave them away without my permission... fuck... her... nothing can make me forgive her, shit will never redeem itself like that.

Anyway, enjoy the boxes...

My mother did something similar but not as cruel. She caught me playing my GBA [link] in her car on the way home from school. She assumed I took it to school which wasn't allowed but I insisted it was in the car since early that morning. Regardless, she confiscated it (with Metroid Fusion, by the way) and I never saw it again. Whenever I confront her about it, she doesn't remember ever doing such a thing.
So until late August 2011 I had no way of playing my GBA games until I received a a red SP for my birthday with Super Mario Advance 4 from my siblings. Shortly after, I made it a mission to replace Metroid Fusion using my birthday money. I didn't find it, so I got Zero Mission. d:

What a great collection you had! I commend the great collection of Game Boy Advance video game cartridges you possessed in your childhood. But your experiences with these 30 video games that you once had should give you something to learn from, and I am going to impart some insight to you about this.

I'm sure your mother had every reason to take away your handheld, games, accessories, etc., and I need to explain to you why this was possible so that you can realize the error of your ways.

Video games are addictive, and have been so ever since the craze pertaining thereto was in its infancy back in the 1980s. The reason why I am labeling them here as "addictive" is because they have displaced many children's time spent in physical activity, on studies, with friends, and even with family.

You and your family are not alone: millions of families have seen video games as an issue to their well-being; as is the case with other electronic media such as television, home video, and the Internet, video games are known to shorten attention span, delay the development of social interaction skills, increase perpetual boredom, etc. Playing video games in a compulsive manner has often been shown to cause the users to become isolated from family and friends and from other forms of social contact, and to cause them to focus entirely and exclusively on in-game achievements, giving no attention to broader life events. It has also been shown to induce mood swings and destroy the players' imaginations.

According to gamingaddiction.net, you SHOULD NOT play video games in excess of forty hours per week, and how often you play games in a single week should not conflict with your other hobbies or with other things that are important to your life. You need to balance your schedule by preventing video gaming from conflicting with more important things such as work, school, social status, or relationships.

I once had an extreme video game obsession, but now I've withdrawn from them, which seems to be helping me enjoy life more and have better relationships. However, although I've grown out of the games themselves, I still have every right to enjoy video game franchises. So I am urging you: if anyone in your life has any little smidgen of a video game obsession, please learn from your experiences and urge him to grow out of it!
