Description This is a tutorial series I'm throwing together for who has recently got Manga Studio EX 4 and was stressing a little on not knowing how to use it.

In this part, I'm mainly talking about tools and locations.

In the next one (which might be out later tonight or tomorrrow) will be over how I get started on linearts and comic pages.

... ugh... getting screen shots on macs are a pain in the butt!!! >.<;;

But I hope you all find this useful! n.n

This is a great tutorial, but... I can't figure out how to make a line colored other than blue.

I'm right in the middle of working on a tutorial that goes over lines, line colors, and tones.

It's just taking me a while since that's a good number of screencaps to go through.

but if you'd like, I can try to help you out if you tell me the setting your program has.

sometimes the lines are blue because you're in the sketch tab as opposed to the draw tab. You'd press a different button to make the lines from blue to black in the draw tab. But before I confuse you, just drop me a note and a couple screencaps with your pic zoomed out and then zoomed in (a line close up, theres a difference between the draw lines and the sketchlines)

okay, I can't really send the note... and I think I'm in the draw tab... and it's still blue )X

Ok.... that's an easy fix!

In the layer's tab on the far upper left corner, you see these sets of squares that's various colors.

That's what you click to switch out the line colors. You can go from black to blue or blue to black.

It works the same way if you're in the sketch tab, only in the sketch tab, you can use more colors while the other colors don't show up in the draw tab (draw tab only uses blue and black.)

Feel free to ask if you're still having trouble

It depends. you can tell which tab you need to go to by the line.

If the line seems to have dots on it, then the color change needs to happen in the sketch tab.

If it's solid lines, then that's the draw tab.

easy way to determine where the mistakes lie.

On my mac I press a screen shot key on my keyboard and it automatically takes the screenshot... you don't have that key? You need a new keyboard.
