Description Had to get this out of my system...

Keeping with Argus [or perhaps in this case, βˆ€rgus hinthint] tradition of weird head mounted knife storage, the sheath attaches to a sliding mount at the end of a short servoarm. Slides back for stowage, sliding forward is linked to arm motion.

It reminds me of the "Scroll in Mouth" style of Knife holder the ARX-7 Arbalest from Full Metal Panic used to hold it's Mono Molecular Cutter (fancy mecha knife).

i still say this is dangerous because because must be design penetrate armour like his own. let me use halo as a example it would okay if a spartan fought odst or marine. but if master chief was up against another spartan or power like bubblegum crisis, crysisΒ  iron man etc in hand 2 hand fist a cuff the weapon is right there to cut throat. i wouldΒ  be the same in real life that any soldier from any generation this would be a slice your throat scenario.Β  the sheath with explosion could penetrate the armour. but still i see your point it does look very cool.

Anyone clumsy enough to miss by more than 4 inches to poke themselves in the throat has no business dealing with any lethal implement.

I think it'd be cool to have dual knives pointed upwards like Batman's ears, just put both arms up, pull them out from the top. Also would look pretty badass too.

Nocturnal-Link [2014-02-16 21:49:04 +0000 UTC]

Nice concept! Β Definitely NOT impractical from a knife fighter's point of view... would be very quick and easy for the user to pull that out, but also easy for an opponent up close... maybe some kind of verification lock is required to release the blade?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Tabnir In reply to Nocturnal-Link [2014-02-16 22:29:23 +0000 UTC]

Since the handle faces down it's necessary to have a latch near the thumb that releases on contact with the suit glove its bound to; there is also a shroud that covers most of the handle when the sheath is in the up and stowed position that makes it hard to grab.
