Description
I saw the moon out in the daytime the other day. I thought well that looks cool. This piece came from that thought.Made completely from textures and hand made elements.

Hey Tom, I am critiquing this because you asked not because I think I have an special expertise. I love the textures here. Your textures are always fantastic. The frosted glass look is really nice, and it looks a bit like paintings I have seen that have wax applied over them. The abstract nature of the trees is really nice and the color harmony of the piece is near perfect.
If I have anything at all to add to your thinking about the painting, that is that the composition seems to lack a strong center of interest. You clearly worked to balance the composition of the trees, but here the moon is the focus of the painting, but I think the trees kind of fight for that. My only idea for addressing it is more leading lines and maybe more contrast around the moon, but honestly that would compromise the frosted glass effect.
Anyway, as I said, I am not necessarily much of an authority on this, but I figured I would try to contribute.

Mesmerizing picture. I love how serene it seems, yet brings about almost a resonating sadness. Beautiful work.

Thanks Tommy!
It's taking a while to recoup, much preferred over the
the other option.
Your Gallery is terrific as well.. Great work indeed!

Hi!
It's always so surprising how you form pictures with textures only. I would really like to see a "making of" of such a work! Are you into digital painting, too? I think it must be the same way of visualizing something. Always having the colours, lights and shades in mind, instead of just filling a shape.

Thanks Jade! Hmm a making of..... Maybe I will. Don't do much digital painting I think it would be fun though. I think it is the same process in any medium. This one is all about color and composition.
